AGW -- A Couple of Questions

The Democrats control the White House, the Senate, and the House, the latter two by sizable margins. They have told us repeatedly how desperately important it is to pass health care reform. Not only is it a moral imperative, but a fiscal one as well. And yet, the unexpected loss of one Senate seat has derailed everything! *gasp* If the Democrats cannot pass an important bill even given their current numerical dominance, what the hell good are they?

I enjoyed reading this blog post today: http://nofrakkingconsensus.blogspot.com/2010/01/time-magazines-controversial-glacier.html

The IPCC had to admit the other day that their alarming claim about the glaciers in the Himalayas melting by 2035 due to global warming, published in their definitive and not-to-be-questioned-because-the-science-is-settled 2007 report, was based entirely on the speculation of one scientist, a Dr. Hasnain. Even though the good doctor's views on this issue are considered ludicrous by other experts in his field, and even though his opinion was not specifically solicited for the IPCC report, still it formed the basis for the published claim in the definitive report. How much more bullshit is there in the IPCC report?
