Iowa

The six hour drive took closer to seven what with road work and all. Our hotel is OK, but nothing to write home about--it will serve and it's close to the U of I campus and medical center. Tomorrow Dorothy gets some prep work and then we'll probably just go to the mall.

One nice thing is that we can webcam with the kids now that I have a laptop--it is really cool to be able to call from the road with our phone, and video chat with them while we're away. I think it helps them feel less lonely.

That's about it. I miss chatting with several of you who might read this--chatting has become a pleasant habit and I miss my friends. Still, I can at least scope out the new pics and follow those blogs and feel like I'm still in the loop.

We'll see what happens tomorrow--I brought some work along and I really need to try to get at least some of it done.
