Busy Day at Work

Work was crazy today. Recently, the hospital went to a different leasing company for our computers, so we've been getting hundreds of them in at a time. Unfortunately, they aren't coming in on pallets--they are coming in as 100+ individually shipped boxes on FedEx and UPS trucks. This morning the FedEx guy in the overnight truck showed up with around fifty computer monitors, so I loaded those one by one on a spare pallet and dragged them down to the IT department. I thought that would be it, but then the UPS truck arrived early. His truck was loaded wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling with over 150 monitors! I loaded three pallets more with those.

The regular stuff from FedEx was pretty heavy today also, so as usual, I skipped lunch and breaks and just went wall-to-wall on work myself. I was very happy when quitting time rolled around.

Our neighbors are leaving tomorrow. They've been giving us a lot of things they don't want to drag along, like some concrete flower planters, a nice porch bench, table, one of those foot-pedal, lid opener trash cans, a fan, and a bunch of other stuff. Unfortunately, their house has not sold yet after all, and is once again up for sale. In the usual domino method of home buying, the people who were going to buy their house can't now because the guy who was buying their house had a problem with his loan. Anyway, they are having a showing tonight, so they're coming over around 7 p.m. while the agent shows the home (the agent is also a neighbor of ours, by the way).

Bad as this is, I really didn't want the people who were buying their house to get it--they sounded like the unfriendly type, and I have been very happy with the neighborhood since we moved in. It's been a friendly place around here, and I'd regret it very much if that changed.
