Off To Iowa

Tomorrow Dorothy and I head to Iowa. We had much to do today to get ready. But she had to actually work first shift this morning, so while she was typing, I was installing window A/C units in two of the kids' rooms, as promised. They were all gone to their grandparents' place today up at the Muskegon river. I also did some writing, a bit of chatting online with a new chat buddy, and cut the grass. The rabbit cage needed to be cleaned thoroughly, but to get it into the backyard, the bikes all had to be moved, and since they were out of the way, Dorothy decided to clean the garage a bit. When the Pheo isn't active, she feels quite well--now that all the extra drugs are out of her system, too.

For some reason, the backyard was infested with mosquitoes. We haven't had that much of a problem until now, but it was impossible to spend much time back there. Later, my Brother-in-law Jim came over. He's staying here with the kids until we get back. They're getting almost old enough to stay by themselves, but they'll have fun with Uncle Jim.

All I have to do yet tonight is pack, and that will be easy enough. I hope I can keep in touch with my friends--I assume lots of places will have wifi, but you never know. Last year our hotel relied on a couple of computers across the street for people to use to check e-mail.

Looks like the weather will be good. It is just a six hour drive, then three days at the same hotel while Dorothy gets her testing done at the University of Iowa Medical center.

Hopefully I'll blog tomorrow and let you know how things are going.
