Feeling Good

This morning I took my Concerta at 6:15 and by the time I was on the road at 7 or so I felt pretty good. I haven't felt any of the side effects of a few days ago, other than a tendency still to feel a bit wired. I also noticed that I tend to speed when I'm on the highway a lot more. At first I thought this might be due to the five or six miles of fresh pavement put on my route this summer--it's a nice smooth ride even in my 17-year-old Buick beater. But then I found myself doing 80 at other points on the road too, and realized it is the meds. I also turn the radio up louder, especially if it's "It Don't come Easy" by Ringo Starr.

My technical advisers really came through for me yesterday--nice to be able to have your conjectures either validated or modified into a correct understanding.

My coworker Keith often walks onto the dock and shouts "Fire Up! Gotta get fired up!" To this I reply with a much louder, oddly keyed, "Fire UP!" of my own. Yesterday I was feeling way too good for any else's well-being. Keith walked by me and I followed quietly, so he thought I was yards behind him when I let loose with a very loud "Fire UP!" right behind him. Not only did I startle his ass, but I also happened to hit just that right screechy note that affects him like fingernails on a chalkboard. What was most gratifying was that I not only saw him jump, I saw him cringe. I wondered if he'd even come back that day.

I do think I felt a crash around 7 p.m. last night from the meds--felt funny for awhile, but I was still alert and able to function last night, though I didn't get much done. Part of that may have been watching the ball game and three episodes of "The Office" though.

Speaking of which, my girl Friday Angie is a big Office fan herself, so I have someone near at hand to talk about the show with. :-)

Enough for now. I expect a typical Wednesday, although so far it hasn't been typical at all.
