Sorry I didn't post anything yesterday like I said I was going to. I was just too tired, and I had to take my daughter to a late dentist appointment, and that threw off my schedule more than I thought it would. I also took more photos of the park than I thought I had, so I need to sort through them to see which I want to post.
Work was very busy yesterday, far more busy than most Tuesdays are around here, and that didn't help after having had a three-day weekend. Even if you take one day off, you need some time to get back in the swing of things.
It's raining this morning and it's going to remain cool. This has been the coolest summer I can recall, and might be the coolest on record here in Michigan. Even if it doesn't measure that way, you need to bear in mind that the surface temperature stations are all biased warm, on average. It's funny that the global warming lovers point to the cool summer and say, as if they know what they are talking about, "Weather isn't climate." This is true--a few days of record heat or cold do not a climate make. However, a record cold season appearing over a large fraction of the country, when the whole world is supposed to be warming, is an aspect of climate. Cooler than average is not remarkable--cooler than ever is.
Hopefully I'll update tonight with some pics. :-)
