Yesterday was one of those days at work where it was remarkably harder than it needed to be. For instance, UPS came twice--the first time with a truck dedicated to us containing over 200 boxes of computer stuff, all of them individually shipped. I did have some help this time from the IT department to stack the skids with the boxes as we took them off the truck. That was good, but it meant I got on the truck myself and helped unload. Unfortunately, UPS trucks have a steep step near the back, so after unloading the thing it felt like I had walked up about 10 flights of stairs. No one knows why the computer leasing company ships everything in separate boxes rather than just putting them on a pallet and shipping them all at once as bulk freight.
The next problem was with our main supplier. We got in 12 skids of medical supplies, but the pallets were improperly labeled and sorted. Even though about 85% of everything that comes in goes to the storeroom, that other 15% goes everywhere else in the hospital. Those items are supposed to be placed on separate skids and labelled as "mixed items." Yesterday they were not and I had to search through multiple pallets for just a few stray items, and that is very time consuming. In addition, the truck came late, so I had to race to get done on time, and still left 15 minutes late, which means today or tomorrow I'll have to leave 15 minutes early.
Rest of the day was OK. Watched another 6 episodes of "The Office," this time from season 2.
For some reason, I feel tired this morning, despite taking my meds. The only thing I did differently from yesterday was to take my pill with oatmeal instead of cereal, and I'm wondering if that makes a difference. Hmmm.
UPDATE: So today UPS came in with 373 packages. Bleah!
