A Simple Delight

So it is a bit slow at work this morning, and I was pacing around and looking out the window for a truck to arrive, and I noticed red things on the ground across the parking lot. Obviously, they had to be apples, but I had never noticed that there was an apple tree over there. They were obviously too big to be crab apples, so I put on my jacket and went to investigate.

I do not know what kind they are, and they are a bit smaller than what you would get in a grocery store, growing untended as they are. Still, I got one, took it inside, washed it off, and gave it a taste. Tart and crispy and tasty!

A big deal? No. But just one of those simple, unexpected delights that comes along now and then, which you need to savor in the moment.
